Mabuhay Esteemed Society Members.  I have been an active member of the Filipino Society since 2002, and I currently hold the position of Communications Director.

If I am elected as Vice President, I will be highly dedicated to serving the Society and its members, parish, and parish school.  I will utilize my diverse academic and professional experience, communication and organizational skills, and passion for collaboration to efficiently and effectively build on and continue to grow the important work and contribution of the Society to our parish and parish school.

My leadership philosophy centers on people first, open and clear communication, clearly identified and measurable outcomes, and continuous improvement.

My educational background includes an AA in Early Child Development from Skyline College in San Bruno and a BS in Physiology from the University of California at Davis.  My professional experiences include being a Preparatory School Teacher, Counselor for Abused Children, and a former flight attendant with United Airlines for 15 years.  At present, I am an administrative associate in the Chemistry Department at Stanford University, where I plan to retire.

I am a single mother to five children between the ages of 13 and 4.  Presently, my four older children have the privilege of attending Holy Spirit School.

At the parish school, I am currently involved with:
  • Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) board member for the athletic program
  • Assistant coach for the third grade Boy’s National Basketball team
  • Team Mom for 7th and 8th grade Girls Softball team, 7th grade and 8th grade Girls Basketball team, and 8th grade Girls Volleyball team
  • Coordinator and instructor since 2003 for the13 year old after school enrichment program, Filipino Culture Class
  • Director for the Filipino Culture Class annual Festival Performances
  • Girl Scout Troop 2553 Secretary since 2002
  • Chair for Teachers Appreciation Week
  • Co-chair for the Children’s Christmas Boutique
  • Committee member for the Mother and Daughter Event
  • Committee member for the Mother and Son Event

At the parish level, I have served as a committee member under the:
  • Finance Council
  • Fund Raising

My relevant professional experience involves serving as the Executive Director for the Mutya ng Pilipinas, USA Scholarship Pageant from 1985 to 1996.

I am honored and humbled to have been nominated and I am both confident and comfortable contributing to the Society’s goals and accomplishments as Vice President.  Maraming Salamat Po.

Vice-President - Elect Candidate

To My Esteemed Friends and Fellow Member’s of the Holy Spirit Filipino Society, I am seeking your help and support to become your next Vice President.

I am a graduate of Menlo College & SBA and have been working in the Commercial Real Estate field for the past sixteen years.

My wife Rica, daughter Angelina (Angie) and I have been privileged to have been associated with our vibrant Filipino Community at Holy Spirit Parish and its school.

I’ve had the distinct pleasure and honor to have represented our Society as the Director of Membership and Operations Manager for the past two years.

Of which thanks to the fine stewardship of Mr. Geoff Saturnio, our incumbent President, we’ve successfully maintained and embellished the vitality of the Filipino community and its ongoing relationship with our Parish and the school.

I have also been privileged to have served and continue to serve as member of the Holy Spirit School Board.  I am your current Chairperson for the School’s Safety Committee.

That being said as your Vice President, I will continue to work diligently with leadership and vision to promote, strengthen and continue our ‘strong relationship’ and ‘mutual cooperation’ that exists within the Parish, the school and the Filipino Society.

I will work close in hand with the new President and the newly elected Officers to implement a forthright plan and a vision to strengthen our membership, streamline and aggressively promote our fund raiser’s and to further grow our Scholarship Programs in order to insure that our Society will continue on as a viable non profit, charitable organization that brings together people of Filipino ancestry at Holy Spirit Church.

I would also like to incorporate a plan to celebrate and promote our ‘Filipino youth’ within our Holy Spirit community.  This would be achieved by electing a ‘youth advocate’ to join our strategic meetings as an officer of the Society.

I firmly believe that 2009 will be a water shed year for the ‘next generation’ of Filipino’s to step forward to carry on our wonderful legacy and mission created over a impromptu pot luck gathering at Mr. Joe Palma’s residence in the summer of 1978.

I will look forward to your kind support.

In Christ

Best Regards,

Rob
